Urban Escape: A Solo Adventure in Chittagong

"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."~ Albus Dumbledore

Hello everyone to my blog. This is my first time writing one but I'm hoping you guys will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. The past few months have been very hectic for me. The academic pressure, loss of a childhood friend and the life of loneliness in Dhaka was gobbling me up! During February my academic, non-academic personal study pressure and personal work pressure was immense. During that period I usually slept for 6 hours or 7 hours max. Near the end of February one of my very close childhood friend attempted suicide (He hung himself). I was shattered to hear that but since my midterm exams were coming up I was unable to attend the funeral. When the midterm exams were ongoing I decided to head out somewhere on an adventure. Since all of uni friends suck!! I decided to go by myself. So, after my midterm exams I went on a solo trip to Chittagong city.

I went there by train and even before I reached there the view outside was getting greener and greener which got me even more excited. The moment I set foot in the city I was sure that I'm going to be in for a treat. Very very old mosques, short hills and greenery on both sides of the roads, houses with traditional ancient bengali architecture and what not.It was all just really mesmerizing.

Not to mention the unique cuisine of local foods were amazing too. Especially "mejban" which is the most popular traditional food there.

During the evening I went for long a walk and
walked for two hours.

During the walk I was able to see some amazing places.
  • Oli Khan Mosque

  • Bali Arcade

  • Jamal Khan Avenue

  • DC Park

  • Some other places

Since the trip was only for a day and my hotel was very expensive, I left Chittagong the next  day with some amazing memories. Leaving a beautiful place like that really envoked my emotions. It's like bidding farewell to a cherished friend, knowing that the memories forged there will linger long after departure. Yet, amidst the sadness I was happy to return as a new person and to discover the taste of travelling solo. After all, for me, the trip was all about self healing and trying to find balance in life

Hope you guys enjoyed it. I have no idea where Allah has plans for me next but i'm hoping to travel and explore as much as I can in my life. Wish me luck! And thanks alot for reading till the end <3.
