Painting: My go-to tranquility
Tranquility. It’s that baffling
state of inner peace everyone craves into the chaos. A moment of stillness when all your
worries melt away. For me, painting is the ultimate doorway to that serene
realm,my go-to tranquility.
Amidst today’s whirlwind world, where we are constantly focused on screens and
deadlines lurk around every corner, taking the time to engage in a creative
pursuit is not easy. It's no surprise why stress often tags along as a companion
for many of us.
I have found painting more than just a hobby. It's a form of therapy and a source
of comfort in times of need. Therapeutic about the act of creating art is
freedom it offers. There are no rules to follow, no deadlines to meet just pure
creative work.
This is a corner of my room with some of my recent paintings hung with care.
There's a sense of peace they bring whenever I gaze upon them . It's a reminder
to me that even among life's hustle and bustle, there is beauty to be found if
only we take a moment to pause and appreciate it.
When I paint, I enter a state of flow where time seems to stand still and all
that matters is the colours before me. Worries and anxieties fade into the
background as I let loose myself in the moment of silence to think and paint. I
don't care about how it would turn out ,rather I focus on the process which brings me
pleasure. It's like a meditation, a way to enjoy quiet time on my own.
Like I said I don’t worry about the outcome much because painting isn't just
about creating something beautiful, it's about the process itself. It's about
embracing the imperfections, it's about letting go of perfectionism and
allowing yourself to be guided by intuition and instinct.
The best part is you don't need to be a professional artist to start painting.
All you need is a willingness to let go of expectations and allow yourself to
be swept away by the creative process. Whether you're a complete novice or a
seasoned painter, there's something uniquely healing about putting expressing
yourself through art.
This is a wall painting I did five years ago, I had this idea to turn the boring plain wall into something lively. It's funny how time flies, isn't it? Yet, every brushstroke still carries the same sense of wonder and excitement as the day I first put paint to wall.
One of the most remarkable aspects of painting for pleasure is its ability to promote mindfulness. As I become fully immersed into the moment,I put all my attention on the brushstrokes without any worry.
Moreover, painting offers a safe space to me. It has emotional benefits which allows me to step back and get recharged. It's a chance to heal from it’s power. Countless studies have shown that engaging in creative activities like painting can reduce stress, alleviate anxiety and depression, and even boost the immune system. We all too often deny ourselves into do something creative and useful. Painting can be a great start to be more productive.
Ultimately painting holds a tranquil sense of accomplishment and fulfilment. There's nothing quite like the feeling of stepping back and admiring a finished piece, knowing that it was born out of pure passion and joy. Even if the end result isn't perfect, the act of creation itself is enough for soul nourishing and igniting a sense of pride.
