My Pandemic Guitar Journey
It was the time after I finished my secondary school exam and I have no study pressure. I was a person who was very much introverted and didn't like to go out with friends or family. During primary school I was a mediocre student with no such skills like other people where they used to participate in different extracurricular activities.

The pandemic that started in the month of February 2020, everyone was on lockdown . I stayed home all day playing video games on my computer. On the other hand, I suddenly started to listen to music of different genres. According to my playlist, I used to listen to psychedelic rock, progressive rock and death metal most
of the time. After a few days, I was very much curious about learning guitar because this instrument was interesting to me, the soothing sound of the psychedelic solos made me more captivated. One of my most favorite bands was Pink Floyd. I used to listen to the solo’s played by David Gilmour who was the vocalist and also the guitarist of the band. Now, it is time for me to buy the electric guitar. I told my father about it but my father agreed. I bought a Fender Squire Stratocaster guitar with a pedal. I know it was very expensive as a beginner but according to me I feel like starting to learn something with perfect equipment will help to gather more interest.
After a few days I tried to learn easy chords to play my favorite songs of Pink Floyd, Metallica and I managed to learn basic chords within 2 weeks. I had more fun playing guitar after I researched more about it in the past. I was talking about Jimmy Hendrix, also called the Greatest Of All Time!!
Jimi Hendrix, who is regarded as one of the most Inventive and significant artists of the 20th century, invented the electric guitar's explosive potential. Hendrix invented a new genre of music with his inventive use of feedback, fuzz, and controlled distortion. Jimi Hendrix's spectacular climb in the music industry in just four short years is nothing short of astonishing, given that he was unable to read or write music. Many contemporary musicians, including Steve Vai, Jonny Lang, Miles Davis, and George Clinton, have been influenced by his musical vocabulary.
Now, the story of my music journey. After learning for 5-6 months. I was interested in going to a concert where many of my favorite Bangladeshi bands were going to perform. I requested all my friends to buy tickets and they were also excited. So, it was my first time going to a concert . On the day of the concert, what my friends and I experienced was one of the best memories for me till now. I saw my favorite guitarist Samir Hafiz from Warfaze band shredding and playing the magical solo. And that experience made me curious to make a band with my friends so all together we can perform one day on stage like this. So, we created a group where there were 6 members and we made the name ‘’Joratali’’. Now you might ask why we chose this name. To be honest there was no particular reason for this name but the most interesting part is that none of the members have their own instruments except me. So, every time we jam, we borrow guitars and cajon from other people. So, every Friday we get the time to jam in the evening. So we started our practice by renting a studio pad near Moghbazar where the charge was 800 taka for 6 hours. Many of the famous and successful singers started their journey from this studio and there was only one pad in Moghbazar which was famous. We enjoyed every moment while practicing and developed our skills together.
All was going good till October 2022, then our HSC exam started in November so everyone of us were inactive. We didn't get any chance to play our instruments. I cleaned my guitar and put it in the shelf. After giving the exam I realized that I need to start something which will help me to progress in life . So, I decided to take computer science as my major and I have to give time on this. All of us had lost interest in the music since everyone else were busy with their own lives. After I stopped playing the guitar, I saw that no matter what I try to learn, I never finish it. All of us were taking admission preparation. So thus our group doesn't exist anymore but it was one of the best memory of my life. And I lost the interest in playing my guitar but I do play occasionally.
