My Love for Bengali Literature
In 2020 during covid lockdown when everyone is busy making Dalgona coffee right then my love for Bengali literature
started. Bengali Literature holds a special place in my heart due to its rich tradition and comprehensibility. My father advised me to practice literature during these lockdown days and I did as he said. To be honest, I have never read any book of Bengali literature before. But at that time it also happened that I finished 7 books in 15 days. The first Bengali book I read was "Chander Pahar" written by "Bibhutibhusahan Bandyopadhyay". In this book he wrote about Shankar's (The main Character of this book) adventure. After reading this book, I became interested in reading adventure books. Then my friend suggested me to read "Kakababu Samagra". And thus reading books became like an addiction for me and my love for Bengali literature was born.

I started reading with adventure books but now I am a huge fan of detective books. My favorite book in Bengali literature is "KIRITI SAMARA" which was created by Dr. Nihar Ranjan Gupta. The main character in this book is Kiriti Roy. He is a detective by profession but he likes to introduce himself as a "Truth Seeker" (Satyanneshi in Bengali). His closest friend and assistant was Subrata Roy. Kiriti and Subrata are found in every story in the Kiriti Samagra. However, in some stories Krishna is seen as Kiriti's wife. Each story in this series is so twisted that the interest cannot be diverted from it. And at the very end, Kiriti would give a perfect explanation of his investigation. He observes such subtle matters which are not possible for a common man. And his friend Subrata helped him in all these matters. Sometimes he got various hints through Krishna's work.

Since then, my love for Bengali literature gradually deepened. Lockdown was going on at that time so it was not possible to go to outside shops and buy books. My friend Humayra said that I can buy books online. I was a bookworm but I didn't know that I could buy books online. By that time, my love for Bengali literature was so deep that I bought nine books with some of my savings. I bought several books by Sunil Gangopadhyay and Humayun Ahmed on the advice of my father and my friend. Both of their writings are so easy that readers of any age can understand them. Some of Sunil Gangopadhyay's creations are "Buker moddhe agun", "Sonali Dukkho" "Kakababu Samagra" (Which I mentioned earlier). And some of Humayun Ahmed's creations are "Amar Ache Jol", "Rumall", "Leelaboti", His classic novel is "Kothao Keu Nei".

Bengali Literature is deeply related to my culture heritage and linguistic roots.I feel myself with the generations of the writers in the pages of Bengali novels, stories and poems I can feel their complexities of their characters lives, their purpose and their love. When I started studying literature I forget that there is a world beyond books. It is a love affair that deepens day by day. Because I eagerly explore new works and revisit old favorites. In every page of Bengali Literature I find new me, new wisdom and new beauty.
