Lights out- 💡❌night filled with horror and laughter
Why watching horror movies with your friends are the beST
Movies transport us to realms stimulating our emotions and act as an escape from reality. Horror movies, in particular, aren’t stories that hold learning outcomes but are instead mostly an experience to de-stress. It brings people together. Horror movies it is something that I have always enjoyed watching, be it alone or with a group of friends. The chilling sensation and eerie atmosphere provoke my mind to binge-watch horror films. To add more, a horror movie becomes twice as scary and enjoyable when you watch it with your friends. On this blog, I shall reminisce my one of the best experience of a night out filled with horror and laughter and as to why horror movies are the appropriate genre to be watched with your friends.
“Lights Out” is a horror film that intertwines with a cherished memory from my past. On a Saturday winter night, I, along with two of my friends, decided to stay over at my place to watch Lights Out. The fun part is one of my friends had never watched a horror film ever before. We all were excited to snatch away his streaks of not watching a horror film until that night. As the foggy winter night plunged into the eerie silence of the darkness, we began to watch the movie.
The movie begins with a grip of terror as lights inside a textile factory start flashing, and in the darkness stands a shadow of Diana- the main antagonist. This is just a glimpse of the movie; as we proceed into the movie, it is filled with jump scares and beautiful sound engineering throughout. Even though I have watched horror movies so much yet, this movie is particular to me because it was my first stayover with my friends. What makes this movie so unique to me are my friends and our fun. To be particular, my friend Samira’s cowardness is what made this movie so special. She was very hesitant about our plan to watch the film. But we convinced her to watch the movie through a friendly bet of treating him in a fine dine if she is able to withstand the movie through out the end. With the first jump-scare of the movie where Paul encounters Diana made Samira almost pee his pants. However the tables soon turned around with the second jumpscare where sophie paul’s wife talks with Diana in a dark room that is seen by Martin paul’s son. At this point we were so engrossed in the movie that we were with Martin watching his mom talk with Diana. Right at this moment the doorbell of our house rang. We all were terrified and screamed out of fear. Fortunately it wasn't Diana. It was the pizza guy that we ordered earlier. Soon after we proceeded more into the movie the most scariest jumps are appeared. It is when Rebecca Martin’s sister witnesses Diana while she was sleeping she heard crewking noises when she got up from her bed she saw Diana sitting on the floor. At this moment out of fear I felt like my heart was about to burst and the look of fear on my face did not go unseen by my friends. Now i was the victim of their jokes thankfully not diana’s. This friendly banter didnt end with Sophie killing herself at the end.
Now as we have all grown up and are miles away from each other with seas and continents between us, this movie is what holds us together as we can always go back to where we left with this memories of this movie watched together. At the end of the day maybe movies weren’t not the main character it was rather the medium of holding us all together.
